About us
VRC is a community of volunteers, enthusiasts, and passionate rat advocates. We are dedicated to creating a space for appreciation, education, and camaraderie for people who have been positively impacted by these animals.
Our mission
Since creating the group in June of 2019, what started as a social gathering to share mutual respect and affection for rats sparked a greater conversation. Our mission is to fight the ongoing stigma and lack of representation for rats, to spread awareness, and promote kindness and understanding between these animals and humans. We are a community of rat lovers, for rat lovers, located in the Vancouver and Lower Mainland area of British Columbia, Canada.
Other notes
Our Facebook group is POC-LGTBQ friendly and all ages are welcome. Discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.
VRC’s collective activities take place on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish and Wet'suwet'en People. We ask all members to remain courteous and act within this context during group ventures.
