Remembering Milton

This was hard to make, and long overdue.

Milton's surgery was a success, but we lost him in recovery. VRC members were updated with his every step, but we didn't have the heart for a public post. Remembering he's gone still hurts. Remembering the state we found him still makes us angry.

But we'd do it again, because he deserves it. Every one of them does. If you see a domestic rat outside, please do what Milton's finder did — take a picture, share it (ideally with your local animal services, rescues or welfare groups.) If you're able to contain them, even better. At the very least, be kind to them.

A huge thank you to those in our community who helped with his care, and his vet team for their endless support. Everyone who went out at all hours to search the bus stop and surrounding area, and all of you who loved him as much as we do.

Rest well, sweet boy.
